Approximate signifies similarity or resemblance, meaning that the form resembles but the essence differs—it is not genuine yet appears authentic. Approximate samadhi has not yet attained the level of samadhi; it approaches samadhi, resembles samadhi, seems like samadhi, but is not true samadhi. Similarly, approximate anutpattika-dharma-ksanti and anutpattika-dharma-ksanti itself have likewise not yet reached the level of anutpattika-dharma-ksanti; they are merely approximations and resemblances to anutpattika-dharma-ksanti, not the true anutpattika-dharma-ksanti.
By clarifying the conceptual meaning of Chinese nouns, the general intent of a sentence or paragraph can become clear. If one's mind is not lazy and one diligently engages in contemplation, gradually, some Dharma principles will naturally become comprehensible. Relying solely on others or ready-made answers is indicative of an unwillingness to think deeply. This approach does not foster the growth of wisdom; one must learn to depend on one's own intellectual discernment. The prerequisite for this is to diligently cultivate merit and meditation.
